Supporting and empowering lesbian, queer, bisexual, trans women, and non-binary asylum seekers and refugees in Sheffield and across South Yorkshire (Barnsley, Rotherham and Doncaster).
LASS was founded in 2017 and is a volunteer-run organisation that aims to support and empower LBTQ+ and non-binary identifying asylum seekers and refugees.
I’m glad to be part of the LASS family. I’m grateful that I was part of it when I needed comfort, support, family, and love. Thanks for being there for me and everyone.”
We are proud to announce that we have received funding for 2025 from the LGBT+ Consortium LGBT+ Futures: Equity Fund. This is a two-year partnership between Consortium and The National Lottery Community Fund, designed to help community-led and grassroot organisations supporting some of the most under-represented and marginalised LGBT+ communities.
We also depend on donations from the community to continue our vital work, please donate via PayPal or contact us for other means of donating.
Every week on Wednesday afternoons we have a Rainbow Hub stall in Sheffield with LGBTQ information and signposting.
Every month we have a meeting for activities, and to socialise and eat together. Contact us on Facebook if you would like further information.
If coming to a meeting feels difficult, or you are nervous about coming to a LBTQ+ group please get in contact and one of our team will be happy to speak to you. If you need help with bus or train fares to and from our meetings please let us know.
We are grateful to LGBT+ Consortium, the Blue Moon Trust, and the Wharfedale Foundation, for their support.
